KVS EMS students of Class XI visited the THOOTHUKUDI V.O.C. Port Trust on 26.08.2024. The students were informed about Bulk Vessel & Container operations on Import/ Export Trade. Students had a chance to board a Coast Guard ship & Mr. Sandeep Singh , Secondary Officer explained the operations of Coast Guard in detail. He also informed about the various job opportunities available in Coast Guard. The students viewed the Thermal Power Plant @ Thoothukudi. The students also visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Snow , a 16th Century Church where they learned about the ancient history of the Church. Finally Students visited the Kattabomman Memorial Fort, where they learned about Kattabomman’s history through pictorial depiction & viewed the remnants of the fort destroyed by the British. Thanks to Mrs. V.Muruga Devi, Guardian of Department of Archaeology, also the Sixth Generation descendant of Kattabomman for providing a detailed explanation of the historical significance.
