Co curricular activities are the great way for children to learn about the world around them. More than just being fun, KVS EMS offers many extra-curricular activities which teach children how to be social in many different situations.

Their minds must always be alert to understand several subjects which are taught to them. During the yoga period at our school, the students practise all asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques which enhance the mind’s power to focus all their energy towards the goal.

Well trained students participated in National and International level competitions and brought laurels to our school.

Art

Art education increases self-confidence and motivates enhanced communication skills and improves cognition. The art and craft integration with academics is given prime importance at KVS EMS to stimulate the students’ interest. Creating art and making crafts involves using hands, holding art materials like pencils, pastels, brushes, or manipulation of materials like clay or mud. All these help in developing muscles that strengthen and support fine-motor skills. Hand-eye coordination is also improved with the practice of art and craft. Above all these are activities filled with lots of fun for children.

School band

One of the best extracurricular activity at school level is a band, the reasons have a very little to do with music, and everything to do with the unique characteristics and ability to promote positive social relationships between the students. School Band practises and performs drills & parades outdoor. The instruments used are Bass drums, Side drums, Cymbals, Bugles,  Trumpets, Tubas and Trombones. Our Band also practises and performs symphonic and orchestral recitals which are mostly performed indoors. School band is an excellent vehicle for teaching students a host of skills such as discipline, teamwork and the importance of following directions. Our school band includes children of different age groups, and it progresses with pride on every occasion.

Karate

Over the last several years there has been an increased interest and uptake across the world in Martial Arts. Here at KVS EMS , the main martial art on offer is Karate. Through Karate, our aim is to bring the benefits the karate training to as many children as possible, helping them to build their self confidence and emotional skills so they have the chance to reach their full potential in everything they do. This after-school activity is handled by an experienced Karate instructor who could motivate the students to achieve black belts.

Football

Playing a team sport like Football gives the students the ability to be well integrated as well as to have friends. KVS EMS has its own football team and actively participates in the Inter School, MSSC  Football Tournaments. Apart from this friendly fixtures are also organised from time to time. Moreover, through this sport, they acquire conflict management skills as well as the ability to respect others. In other words, the child learns to be socially dependent.

Basketball

Basketball is a brisk sport, involving a lot of running, jumping, dribbling the ball, passing it and shooting it. Shooting the ball into the hoop requires immense concentration, a good aim and great accuracy, all of which can be achieved through a lot of practice. KVS EMS gives bounteous practice to the students. Our basketball classes are a high-energy mix of skills, drills, modified games and friendly competition. These classes emphasize fundamentals and are the perfect opportunity for beginner, intermediate and advanced players to work on ball handling, shooting, passing and overall movements and knowledge of the sport.

Cricket

Cricket is one of the most popular games in India. Joining a cricket team @KVS EMS  can open doors to an excellent career and wealth. The benefit of joining a cricket team is that firstly, the student can learn the techniques well as there would be a coach to tell him everything about the game in detail.

Secondly, he also gets an opportunity to play for the district, zonal, national and international level if he gets selected in the team. Thus, Our school often provides a wealth of opportunities to take part in all type of competitions.

Table tennis

KVS EMS’ one of the most important  priorities is to help train the next generation players. In doing so, KVS EMS is committed to working with the youth and children of the community to raise the level of play. More importantly, our school is also going to use table tennis as a method of teaching important life skills. Through our after school program, children are instructed in discipline, diligence and sportsmanship. This commitment, coupled with a communal environment for kids to foster relationships and work on their social skills will provide a great place for children to attend after school.

Language lab

Language Lab @ KVS EMS – It is the best medium for speaking practice and students will be able to learn English effectively. In simple words, the language lab transforms a passive language class into an active speaking-based learning environment. This helps the language teachers to save a substantial amount of time and manage the language class more efficiently. For students this means that they can spend more time on speaking based activities and actually using the target language. This place gives space to the students   to actively participate in language learning exercises and get more practice time than otherwise would be possible in a traditional classroom environment. The main benefit of a language lab is that it increases the time each student can spend actively speaking and practicing during the class. It has been noted that developing students’ oral proficiency and speaking fluency is a common problem in our formal language education.
