Shapes Day – Learning Through Play

KVS EMS conducted Shapes Day on 07 Aug 2026, introducing young learners to basic geometric concepts through interactive, practical & enjoyable activities. The activities were designed to encourage students to recognise shapes in their surroundings, develop observation, classification skills and understand how shapes are used in everyday life and in creative activities.

Students of Class I – participated in a Shape Sorting activity, identifying circles, squares, triangles and rectangles from everyday objects and sorting them into appropriate categories. This strengthened their object recognition, categorisation & fine-motor skills.

Students of Class II – participated in the Shape Art Festa activity, which encouraged students to create colourful pictures using geometric shape cut-outs. Through cutting, arranging & pasting, students developed creativity, spatial reasoning, shape recognition & practical skills.

The Shapes Day activities provided a play-based learning experience, connecting mathematical concepts with creativity and real-world observation.
